Frozen Vegetables...   
Buy frozen chopped red, yellow and green bell pepper combinations. They are easier to use when making stir fry or casseroles.
Buying meat...
Buy ground beef in bulk and separate it into one pound bags and freeze. Use only when needed. It will be cheaper, and you'll only use what you need. This also works for pork. Buy boneless pork loin and cut it into chops yourself.
